3Refix mandrels by Ø10 mm; screws are wearing out too fast. How to solve this problem?
This has been solved by releasing 3Refix mandrels by Torx 20 interface. These are available by EDM, WEDM or PM versions, side by side with the original version. EDM: 3R-901-10-TX, WEDM: 3R-901-10RS-TX and PM: 3R-901-10PM-TX.
How to solve the problem if upper WEDM guide collide with levelling head 3R-272HP?
This problem is possible if thin workpieces are to be machined and the cover of upper guidance is too large. An alternative, is to apply adapter 3R-SP31549 (see D-30241) onto either 3R-262HP or 3R-272HP in order to avoid collision with upper head.
How to single out size of vice?
There is a great variety of vice for horizontal and vertical holding and for rectangular and round workpieces.
Is levelling head for Macro 3R-262HP as stable as the regular levelling head 3R-272HP?
The levelling heads utilize the same internal components with springplate and/or springs. Both have width 70 mm that rest onto z-references or undeneath contact surface. You may say they are equal by stability.
How well are chucks balanced for rotating spindle like lathe or grinding?
Chucks are normally delivered as "rough balanced". It means that they have been balanced on drawing board by G6.3 to a certain level. In production, tolerances may be in favor for better performance. But all together, the balancing has to be made after assembly in machine. For more specific values, get in touch with System 3R and ask for more detailed related to "imbalanced chucks".
What is the maximum temperature that our tooling will withstand?
Up to 100 °C (212 °F) for regular Macro tooling and above that, o-rings, plastic parts and grease will be lost. In worst case scenario, we are able to provide Macro tooling by Inconell material that will withstand temperatures up to 600 °C (1112 °F).
How much clamping force is acceptable before service is required?
In short: less than 15% clamping force, unit should be due service. Over the years, we have designed, produced and delivered a huge range of chucks by various clamping force. To verify state of chuck, have nominal value verified by System 3R's Customer Services.
Are there any guidance as to service intervals to be made for chucks and 3Refix mandrels?
There are documents available that makes a wide coverage. Please contact System 3R's Customer Services.
Are there any ways to improve accuracy of 3R tooling by simple actions?
Two simple guidelines "Splitting Microns" and "Splitting Microns - PM" have been published giving attention to this subject. Please get in contact with System 3R's Customer Services for further information
Are there any broad info of Technical Specifications covering a whole product range for OEMs?
There are separate TPS-General Info prepared, for each tooling range. The area for Macro chucks, had to be split up by three separate sections: Macro Flat chucks (short drawbars), Macro Tall (long drawbars) and Macro PM. Please contact System 3R Customer services for further information.
Where to locate ID-carrier 3R-863.01-10 on old Macro pallets?
ID-carriers for automation was introduced long time after Macro pallets were introduced. There are still customers that want to add cavity to attach ID-carrier in a proper way. For further information please contact System 3R customer services.
How to disable index function by 3R pallets?
We have by Macro and MacroMagnum, instructions as how to modify and implement a solution. See document "Disable index function by Macro" for Macro and "TPS - 90940.12-10" for MacroMagnum. For Matrix products, it has been incorporated by the design and operator only need to replace the rough alignment pins by either 3R-SP29196, 3R-SP29533E or 3R-SP29559E, depending on size of chuck.
What tooling adapters converting from one to an other do we have? Example ITS to Macro?
There are several adapters available though few displayed in catalogues. For automatic chuck adapters. Please get in contact with System 3R customer services.
Customer is asking for a 3Refix table, but the available sizes does not match the size table.
It is rather common that customer asks for this in order to maximize the machine capacity on the table side. Please prepare with a drawing for suitable size and contact System 3R Customer services.
Customer wants to build his own magazine rack for automation to harbour Matrix pallets. Are there any guideline in order to secure position?
There are guidepins 3R-SP27713E to be ordered that works just fine for this purpose and covers the range Matrix142 up to Matrix260. These can also be combined with index blocking pins 3R-SP29553E or 3R-SP29559E.
How to convert manual chucks for short drawbar into enabling long drawbar instead?
Add a special distance kit, will enable the use of long drawbars. Some customers ask for this in order to reduce number of various versions of drawbars in their workshop.
